The Trip to Taiping Suspension Bridge
The total length of the bridge is 281 meter and it’s situated at an altitude of around 1000 meter. It’s able to see clearly the cloud scene and the scenery of Chiayi city.
On March 8, my friends and I went to Taiping Suspension Bridge, which is located in Alishan National Scene Area in Chiayi. Since I don’t have a motorcycle, my friend gave me a ride to the mountain. But before arriving to the destination, my friends and I needed to face the toughest challenge of riding motorcycle to the mountain. Because it’s the highest suspension bridge in Taiwan, we had to ride on the winding and steeping road uphill, known as the Taiping 36 bends. I felt terrified that overlook the underneath scenery. Besides, it took us 40 minutes to reach the Taiping Suspension Bridge.
As toughly arriving to the Taiping Suspension Bridge, we decided to wander around the old street nearby. There are a row of street vendors selling various foods, included the cloud-chip cake, tofu skin, Caozaiguo, and so on. I had enjoyed the cloud-chip cake, its local specialty snack. Its feature is made from albumen. The taste of cloud-chip cake is like sponge cake. But its texture is fluffier than sponge cake.”And we also had the aboriginal cuisine for lunch. Overall, the snacks and the food in the old street were yummy. After eating satisfactorily, it was time for us to conquer the highest and longest bridge in Taiwan. In my imagination, it would be possible to see the coastline and small hills beyond. However, since it was a cloudy day on 3/8, all we could see was the fog surrounded over the mountain. Although the fog reduced our fear, we couldn’t view the beautiful sight underneath. The bad weather was the only fly in the ointment. Then, there is a pathway in the end of the bridge, and we decided to follow the direction. Along the pathway, there is a pavilion and tea garden. It provided people to take a rest and enjoy the quiet and peaceful environment.
On the journey, I really satisfied with the peaceful environment on the mountain and the cuisine sold on the old street. Although we couldn’t see the panoramic scene, my friends and I experienced another beautiful sight. Besides, within the friend’s company made the trip to become more interesting and joyful. Thanks to my friends, I could enjoy the really special and wonderful day.
